COXING
The cox is an absolutely vital member of most training and racing crews - they are responsible for steering the boat a safe and fast course. They are the only one in the boat supposed to speak – giving assertive commands and motivating the rowers to do their best!

Coxing gives people of all ages a real opportunity to take on a responsible team role and participate fully in the sporting action.
If you are over the age of 16 and think you might have the qualities needed to make a good cox then we would love to hear from you. If you have previous rowing or coxing experience that is great but any volunteer new to the sport of rowing can be given full training. The most important requirement is your reliability and commitment to crew training and racing.

There are some physical restrictions simply because the cox seat in many racing boats is limited in size.

Volunteers should find the coxing experience positive for their own personal development and their CV!

Anyone interested should contact the Captain

If you are British Rowing member you can login to the ‘RowHow’ section of the British Rowing website and access the on-line coxing course.
